Patients who were treated surgically (SurT) and those suffering from medical disorders and had not undergone surgery in a General Hospital.

Main study objective

To investigate the difference in shared decision making participation in patients suffering from surgical versus non surgical disorders.

Outcomes

Difference in shared decision making participation in patients suffering from surgical versus non surgical disorders, as measured by the score on the 9-item shared decision making questionnaire (SDM9Q). The effects of patients' and physicians' demographic and clinical data on the (SDM9Q) score, the effect of patients' cognitive functioning as measured by the Montreal Cognitive Assessment on the SDM9Q score, the relationship of client satisfaction from services with SDM9Q score.
