Main study objective

The aim of the proposed study is to describe the epidemiology of diabetes mellitus in a real-world setting using data from Stockholm, Sweden.

Outcomes

The primary objective is to identify patients with DM in the Stockholm County in order to describe the epidemiology, patient characteristics, comorbid conditions, disease history and treatment patterns.

Data analysis plan

This is a descriptive population-based observational study based on secondary data from health registries and electronic health records. Variables will be analyzed descriptively using appropriate statistical methods.
