Network description
The Tuscan Regional Pharmacovigilance Centre (CRFVT) is officially headquartered at the competent Sector of the Health, Welfare and Social Cohesion Directorate of the Tuscany Region and is composed of the Tuscan Universities, the Regional Health Agency of Tuscany, and the network of facilities of the Regional Health Service that participate in Pharmacovigilance activities.

To promote and coordinate regional, multiregional, national, and international studies, and to carry out exploratory studies on phenomena affecting the safety profile of drugs, using both clinical and administrative data of the Tuscany Region, in compliance with data protection regulations, also in collaboration with other entities of the regional health system.

The Universities and their affiliated structures that participate in the establishment and activities of the CRFVT are:
i) University of Florence (Department of Neuroscience, Psychology, Drug Research and Child Health – NEUROFARBA; Research Unit in Pharmacovigilance and Pharmacoepidemiology, Perinatal Research Laboratory PeaRL)
ii) University of Pisa (Medical Area Departments affiliated with the Interdepartmental School of Medicine - Department of Clinical and Experimental Medicine, Pharmacology and Pharmacovigilance Unit, Department of Translational Research and of New Technologies in Medicine and Surgery - and the Departmental Section for Monitoring Adverse Drug Reactions, Pisa University Hospital)
iii) University of Siena (Department of Life Sciences - DSV)

The CRFVT relies on the collaboration of the Regional Health Agency (ARS Toscana), a technical body of the Tuscany Region dedicated to providing consultancy and research for institutional representatives, individuals, and organizations operating within the regional health and social system.
The ARS actively contributes to the generation of evidence on drug safety through the analysis of real-world data.
