Network description
OmicSpace is a next-generation platform designed to enable the secure, ethical, and interoperable use of genomic and clinical data across Spain. It addresses one of the most pressing challenges in healthcare research: the fragmentation of data across institutions, standards, and regulations.

Led by the La Fe Health Research Institute, OmicSpace brings together leading public and private entities, including the Galician Public Foundation of Genomic Medicine, Progreso y Salud Foundation, Aragon Health Sciences Institute, Ramón y Cajal Hospital, La Paz University Hospital, and the HARMONY Alliance. These partners contribute high-quality real-world data (RWD) from their reference hospitals, making OmicSpace a uniquely powerful and differentiated initiative.

The platform connects clinical, genomic, and real-world data in a federated, secure environment aligned with the European Health Data Space (EHDS). It leverages privacy-preserving technologies (PETs) to enable distributed analysis without moving data or compromising local governance.

Key Capabilities of OmicSpace:

Advanced AI applications to support clinical decision-making.
Modular interoperability based on European standards and reusable building blocks.
Automated research workflows, reducing time and cost.
Value-based sustainability, generating economic returns for public and private stakeholders.

OmicSpace not only accelerates biomedical research—it fosters a health data economy ecosystem, driving innovation, collaboration, and the development of high-value services for the healthcare system.
