Fondazione ReS (Ricerca e Salute - Research and Health Foundation), through the collaboration with CINECA (a non-profit Interuniversity Consortium made up of 70 Italian universities, 47 Italian public institutions, the Italian Ministry of Education and Ministry of University and Research), performs research activities in health care. The mission of ReS is to to create useful tools for planning and monitoring healthcare at different levels and for different stakeholders, based on real-world evidence from data describing the real-life practice. The tools created by ReS are useful to contribute to the improvement and completion of evidence-based and patient-centred clinical and policy choices, with a view of sustainability and promotion of the Italian public healthcare institutions. ReS operates in the fields of Real World Evidence, health economy, clinical and regulatory aspects in the following strategic areas: burden of disease in terms of healthcare resource consumption and integrated healthcare direct care costs in charge of the Italian National Healthcare Service (SSN); target populations of new technologies; description of care pathways; development of statistical models of integration between administrative data and clinical data (e.g., primary care databases); development of data collection platforms useful to the research in specific healthcare areas.
