Network description
The AutoInflammatory Diseases Alliance Network is a global initiative coordinated by the Department of Medical Sciences, Surgery and Neurosciences of the University of Siena (Italy).
Launched in 2020 with the goal of connecting doctors, researchers, and patients for better care and understanding of monogenic and polygenic autoinflammatory diseases, it has rapidly widened its field of interest by including ocular immune-mediated diseases and other immune-mediated disorders.
To date, it encompasses 327 partner centres across 55 countries within and outside Europe, with more than 1000 researchers and several medical specialties involved (rheumatology, paediatrics, ophthalmology, immunology, haematology, dermatology, genetics, and others).
The main actions of the AIDA Network include the development of registry-based clinical research, the coordination of the AIDA Academy providing international high-level education, and the cooperation with patients' organisations for patients' empowerment and outreach initiatives.
