Network description
The Istituti Clinici Scientifici Maugeri (ICS Maugeri) are a network of Italian healthcare facilities specialising in rehabilitation medicine and the treatment of chronic and post-acute diseases. Founded in 1965 by Professor Salvatore Maugeri in Pavia as the ‘Clinica del Lavoro’, they are now recognised as IRCCS (Istituti di Ricovero e Cura a Carattere Scientifico) and have been operating as a Benefit Company since 2016.

ICS Maugeri is present in six Italian regions with 18 institutes, nine of which are recognised as IRCCS by the Ministry of Health. The main areas of intervention include neurological, cardiological and pulmonological rehabilitation, with the aim of improving patients' quality of life and autonomy. ICS Maugeri is also engaged in translational research and specialised training, collaborating with universities such as Pavia, Milan and Naples.

The clinical data contained within the OMOP CDM are managed at the Laboratory of Medical Informatics and Artificial Intelligence (LIM - AI). LIM - IA carries out research activities whose aim is the development of advanced computational methods and techniques for data analysis in support of clinical research. The Laboratory is also involved in setting up IT infrastructures for the collection, management, and interrogation of clinical and molecular data and their interpretation. Finally, it carries out prototyping and testing of ICT solutions for patient care, also in a telemedicine context.
