The Brighton Collaboratioon is an international not-for profit organization comprising the world's largest network of vaccine safety professionals. The Collaboration's mission is to serve people and institutions concerned with vacine safety by conducting and promoting high quality research as a leader in the field. We establish standards of research,generate reliable and timely data,build global research capacity and share high quality information about the safety of human vaccines. In Europe we have established a structural and methodologic framework for conducting collaborative vaccine safety studies by establishing the European Vaccine Safety Data Link (EVSD). EVSD studies may currently cover a population of up to a 120 million patients. The EVSD can provide public health decision makers with European background incidence rates of disease and determine the risk of adverse events following immunization for evidence based public health decision making.
