Institution description
The Asturian Group of Research in Pharmacoepidemiology was created in 1998 to study postmarketing adverse drug reactions and Other features of the consumption of medicines. The research group simultaneously works in two areas related to pharmacoepidemiology and pharmacovigilance: 1) research, specially focus on immunosupression and cancer but also centred in any authorized new drug, and 2) training, under and postgraduate medical students in clinical pharmacology, because some members of our team are also teachers in the University of Oviedo. Additionally,we are part of the Ethical Committee of Clinical Research in Asturias, and it allows us to integrate pre- and post-marketing information about drugs in order to perform our assessments of benefit/risk ratios.
