The IMIBE aims to increase and consolidate knowledge and to optimise its utilisation,especially in medicine and the healthcare system. To acquire scientific findings by using appropriate methods,our contribution is research and training in medical informatics,biometry and epidemiology,also including statistics,bioinformatics and medical documentation. In our different projects in theoretical and clinical medicine and healthcare relevant fields,we investigate causes and conditions of diseases and possibilities for effective prevention and treatment. AnOther emphasis is advancement in information management in the healthcare system,also regarding quality assurance and impact assessment. Aware of the potential conflict between social and individual benefits,we commit ourselves to consider and display all relevant aspects when presenting our results. We practice multidisciplinary cooperation,both inside the institute and with external clients and project partners.
