Pia Fondazione “Card. Panico” Hospital (Tricase), provides health services through a programmable outpatient specialist activity that involves the activation of articulated and interdisciplinary interventions.
For Neurodegenerative and Neuromuscular Diseases, diagnostic and assistance paths have been identifi ed and activated in this way in consideration of the qualitative and quantitative importance of pathologies whose management involves the networking of specialist skills and the integrated use of technological resources, diagnostic-instrumental and laboratory that are currently available at the center.
Patient diagnoses are based on a comprehensive evaluation according to clinical suspicion including:
- Clinical history;
- Neurological examination;
- Neuropsychological testing;
- Nutritional evaluation;
- Swallowing evaluation
- Speech therapy evaluation
- Diagnostic outcomes (Laboratory test, imaging study, ecc.)
Each healthcare professional, therefore, collects the patient's data which are then stored in the paper medical record and in an electronic database.
