As the fourth-largest government hospital in Israel, among a network with 25 Governmental hospitals in Israel, Shamir Medical Center provides over 1 million residents in Israel's central region with state-of-the-art medical care and services. Serving an economically and socially diverse community, we are proud to be the medical 'home base' for the cultural mosaic that is Israel, administrating care to Jews, Muslims and Christians, religious and secular communities, low and middle-income families and veterans as well as immigrants from Ethiopia and the former Soviet Union.
Shamir Medical Center is home to multiple centers of excellence, including:
• One of the world’s largest hyperbaric medicine centers with Oxygen Chamber.
• The Orthopedic Division that combines advanced treatments and innovative technologies, such as 3D printing of implants.
• A gastroenterology institute that carry out genetic mapping to adjust treatments according to analysis of findings in stool and microbiome samples.

Additional place of excellence are the Institute of Allergy Immunology & Pediatric Pulmonology, The neurovascular unit is among the most active units for brain catheters for the treatment of stroke and The Institute of Children's Allergy and Immunology that formulated a method for weaning food allergies through gradual desensitization.\
Affiliated with Tal – Aviv University's prestigious Sackler Faculty of Medicine, The Shamir Medical Center supervises the training of interns and residents in various specialty and subspecialty fields and is a hub for cutting–edge research. With an average of 200 peer-reviewed publications every year and close to 800 ongoing research projects at any given moment, The Center is at the international forefront in IVF, internal and orthopedic medicine, endocrinology, ophthalmology, hyperbaric medicine, and allergy research and is home to the Hebrew University's Nursing School, the Physiotherapy School, and the Medical Imaging Technicians School.
