The Barzilai Medical Center provides a professional medical response in routine and emergency situations and is highly skilled in operating systems and maintaining functional continuity during security escalation. The medical center provides over 500 thousand residents in Israel's south region, Serving an economically and socially diverse community, administrating care to Jews, Muslims, Bedouin and Christians, religious and secular communities, low and middle-income families and veterans as well as immigrants from Ethiopia, the former Soviet Union and more.
In light of extensive experience in the field of trauma - the orthopedic department in Barzilai is a center of excellence with unique expertise in hand, foot, spine, joints and oncological orthopedics.
One of our center of excellence is the Oral and Maxillofacial department where we have developed an endoscopic micro-system to diagnose and treat diseases of the salivary glands. This unique equipment to examine and operate on the salivary glands has been developed by Prof. Oded Nahlieli, Head of the Department for Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.
On the academic and research aspects, Barzilai medical center has partnership with the Faculty of Medicine at the Ben-Gurion university.
