Department of Epidemiology Research, Statens Serum Institut

The Departments primary aim is to conduct analytical epidemiological research including pharmacoepidemiology. The Department numbers 40-50 people,which comprises epidemiologists,statisticians,biologists,public health scientists etc. Pharmacoepidemiology research programs at the department includes: 1) safety and effectiveness of vaccines,2) adverse events related to antibiotics use in childhood,3) adverse events related to drug use in pregnancy,4) non-indicated beneficial effects of drugs,and 5) individual-level effects,e.g. pharmacogenetics.
