Department of Clinical Pharmacology and Pharmacosurveillance, University Hospital of Marseille

Our pharmacoepidemiology team is part of the Department of Clinical Pharmacology and Pharmacosurveillance at the University Hospital of Marseille, France. We are involved in the French Pharmacovigilance Network (https://www.rfcrpv.fr/) and the French Addictovigilance Network (https://addictovigilance.fr/), both coordinated by the French Medicines Agency. We have been conducting studies using the French Health Insurance data since the late 1990s. Our team focuses particularly on CNS drugs (e.g., neurology, psychiatry, and addiction), and we have developed and validated several proxies of prescription drug misuse using these data. We also coordinate the OPPIDUM surveillance program, which have been providing information on drug abuse in France since the 1990s.
