National Institute of Public Health (NIJZ)

The National Institute of Public Health of Slovenia (NIJZ) is a central national institution whose main purpose is to study, protect and increase the level of health of the population of the Republic of Slovenia through public awareness and other preventive measures.

In addition to its central role in public health activities in Slovenia, NIJZ is also actively involved in international projects that cover various areas of health and general public health problems of the population. NIJZ also represents an expert level for supporting decisions taken by the state at the national and local level and which have an indirect or direct impact on health.
